I laugh at myself when I realize certain things. When I first started blogging, I was on it all the time. Creating a new post like every two days or something. Then it slowly died down to only once a week, now I am getting it monthly or every 6 weeks. As long as I keep it up I think its just fine. So our life has been moving along smoothly, for Mothers Day Chris got me a new camera. It is so much better, much more user friendly. The last one we had was too much for me, I couldn't use it properly, so therefore I took a lot of bad pictures. All these pictures are within the last two weeks, because I had to do some catching up on things. For Family Home Evening this last week, for our activity we decided to go exploring in the mountains, it was fantastic. I had just a wonderful time. Up this certain canyon here in Tooele - Settlement Canyon- There is this park right in the middle of the wilderness, I love it! So first we went hiking a little and discovered things kids find interesting, then we played in the river and ended the evening playing at the playground, so these pictures are displayed backwards.
Audrey on the Monkey Rope - she liked being able to do this all by herself.

Audrey wanted to be like her big brother in this picture. Jack is able to do the Monkey Bars completely on his own, so of course Audrey had to try. Chris helped her across, then we both had this idea to see if she could actually hang on by herself. So, we tried it! Don't worry - as you can see Chris was right there beside her. But she did it, just for a few seconds, but she did this about 3 or 4 times. This pictures absolutely makes me crack up!!

We of course played in the river, before we left I made sure the kids were in sandals, so that they could get wet if they wanted to. The water was too cold to play in - almost!! It didn't keep Jack from perching himself on this log.

Right at the base of where we parked our car there was this fabulous tree. I kept thinking that I could have played inside the base of this tree for hours as a kid.

Our hike was so beautiful. I miss the outdoors, whenever I get in the mountains I feel so at peace and comfortable. I long for the days that I lived in the mountains camping during the summers growing up. Not just a quick camping trip, but like three solid months living there. I hope my kids can experience this somehow!!

I love that I can actually get a picture of Audrey with my new camera. All shots of Audrey only last for a second and they always came out blurry with that other camera. Isn't she sweet?

What a cutie!!

This is my new favorite picture of us. Chris always has a silly grin or his finger up his nose when the camera comes out. I think this is really cute of us.

My dear friend Lori that I went to High School with. She took me out to lunch one day, and it was fantastic! Talked the whole time, then when I dropped her off, we continued to talk in my car for another half hour. What a great lady!!

I love pictures like these. It makes the chore fun!!

So this is the car we got. Not bad for $500.00 right? Chris has put a lot of time into this and has it working almost perfectly. Of course, having said that, I am sure he could reel off a number of other problems it has it. For starters, the AC doesn't work. He has had a lot of fun with it, and that makes me happy.

We got new windows. Budget wise we weren't going to get them for a few more years, but we just couldn't pass up this opportunity. We are very happy with them. And they are proving very effective. The thing I notice mostly is the reduction of noise. Audrey is taking better naps, and we are not waking up the neighbors windchimes. I think we might notice a huge difference this summer as it will block out the hot sun rays and let the swamp cooler work a lot better. We got new windows on 8 of our 11 windows, this is the front living room window and the other picture is the backyard smaller kitchen window. The reason we didn't get the other windows done is because they are in basement bedrooms and the size of the window is not up to code. We would have had to bring in a cement cutter, and cut out larger size windows from the foundation. I think it would be cheaper and easier to knock out the walls that make it a bedroom and not call it a bedroom anymore, so they wouldn't have to be up to code, and then replace them. Whatever! We will cross that bridge later down the road. But we are loving them, and glad we did it.

Jack has his Kindergarten Assessment on June 2nd. He is so excited to go to Kindergarten. He is so ready fo it. It will be fun to have some time alone with Audrey everyday. Jack had that for almost three years, now it will be Audreys turn. We are also looking forward to a trip to Oregon, via Sacramento and the Redwood Forest in a few weeks. My nephew Parker is getting baptized and we are going up there to see it. Kind of a mini family reunion.
