Jack Starts Kindergarten

Jack standing outside Sterling R. Harris Elementary - Home of the Huskies

Standing outside his new classroom. His teachers is Mrs. Moore.

Jack was one of the first students to arrive, and his pick of seats. As I mention, Audrey was doing everything Jack was, here she has picked out her seat, ready to do as well.

Wow, the time has finally arrived. Jack had his first day of Kindergarten on August 27th 2009. He was assigned PM Kindergarten so he didn't start until 12:20 that day. He woke up bright and early and was dressed including his backpack by 7:00 in the morning. It was absolute torture to make him wait until afternoon. He started to get really mad and thought I was trying to pull something over on him. The time finally arrived and we left. We went into his classroom and had a look around, the teacher gave him a name tag and he picked out a seat and sat down with his arms folded ready to go. He looked so grown up, I was very proud of him. I do need to mention as well, that Audrey thought it was her first day of school as well and did everything that Jack did including finding a chair and sitting down. I literally had to pull her out of that chair kicking and screaming all the way outside. The only thing that calmed her down was the promise of and ice cream cone.
When I went to pick him up I told him that I would pick him up outside of his classroom, until we get a routine down otherwise. But we had also talked about walking home with the neighbors, his best friend Aaron Johnston. Aaron is in first grade and him and his sisters already have arranged that they meet at the flagpole and walk home together. So we talked about and agreed that we would do this as well. Jack knew very what he was supposed to do. So as the end of school bell rang, the kids filed out of the classroom with the teacher at the head and the teacher said: "Take your kids out of line as you see them." That is what I attempted to do, but as Jack saw me, he recognized that I was his mother, but nothing was getting him off track of what he was supposed to do next. He looked right at me and put his hands up and said: "I have to go to the flagpole." So with Audrey in tow, he marched right out to the flagpole stood there with his arms crossed very seriously, and waited for his friends. They shortly arrived and without further question they turned around and walked home. I didn't even get to say "Hi" to him until we reached our living room.
He had a very enjoyable day, reading stories, going on a gingerbread hunt, and making a gingerbread hat. The next day on Friday, was quite so bad in waiting till after lunch to start school. Hopefully it will just get better and better. No homework yet, but I assume some will start coming this week.
Oh, and by the way, I did not cry!! But to be fair, my breath got caught a few times. He is my big boy and I am very proud of him, I Love You Jack!!

I also need to mention that Jack lost another tooth! He has officially lost 6 teeth. He two front teeth were that last to go and now that those are both gone, he spits alot when he talks. I think it is kind of funny. The tooth fairy of aweful in this house, has missed that last four teeth, so Jack CASHED OUT when he lost his sixth one and the tooth fairy came for all four teeth he has missed.

Just had to add these pictures on for good measure, we have a lot of fun in our house and these are some pictures to show it.

Audrey's boobs are HUGE!!

This is what Jack calls an "Underdog" We do this all the time, those are my feet and legs.

Audrey got Sticker-fied

One day Chris brought home a "Decontamination Suit" in preparation for teaching a class and he got it and partly dressed up the kids. I think they look like little green aliens.
